The Lector is responsible to make every effort to acquire a living love and knowledge of Scripture. The relationship between the Lector and the reading is a very intimate and personal one. Merely looking over the readings in the sacristy before Mass is never enough. It is necessary to prepare at home by reading the Scripture passage to oneself and out loud. Lectors are scheduled on a regular basis for a particular weekend Mass and proper dress is required when serving in this Ministry.
-
Altar Server
Altar Servers assist the celebrant at Mass by preparing the altar and sanctuary before Mass, by carrying the cross and candles in the procession to the altar, and by helping the priest during Mass. Servers are also called on to help at weddings, funerals and other parish liturgical celebrations. We encourage all students in grades 4 and above to join us for this great service to God. All that is needed is a willingness to assist the priest at the Altar of God.

It was named after St. Vincent in recognition of his work among those who lacked some of the basic necessities of life. Hoping to help people realize that we are all a part of the family of God, he took contributions from members of the community in order to distribute food, clothing, furniture, etc. to those who would otherwise go without.
Here at our parish contributions are made by donating in blue envelopes at the entrances of the Church. We will help those who are in need within our parish boundaries.
